3. Moon River (明若曉溪)
Summary: Ming Xiao Xi (Pets Tseng), a village girl with superior martial arts skills becomes entangled in the world of the cold and self-serving social elites when she attends the where she becomes acquainted with a cold and popular president of the university student association, Mu Liu Bing (Samuel Lin of SpeXial), and attracts animosity from the daughter of the university’s director, Tie Sha Xing (Cao Xi Yue), for getting the attention of Mu Liu Bing.
Comments: This was an extremely addictive watch. We had to literally stop ourselves from marathoning it. What we loved so much is that both the male lead character and the second male lead character was given the spotlight. Most series usually have the male lead character receives the female leads attention and gets the first kiss and does all the grand gestures on the most important occasions. Meanwhile, the second male lead character is left with the small gestures that the female lead character doesn’t notice or it gets overtaken in sweetness and grandness by the male lead character’s gestures and he feels pitiful. Not in Moon River though! The second male lead character gets quite a lot! We won’t spoil the series by mentioning scenes, but we were so happy with how the second male lead character was written. Feng Jian Che played by SpeXial’s Evan Ma is the second male lead character and he was a satisfying second male lead character. Oh so awesome! Feng Jian Che is our favourite character in the series! We haven’t been so ‘AHHH!’ over a character since Ou Yang Tai (Chris Wu)—the male lead character in the 2013 Taiwanese romance-comedy, Princess Stand In!
With a female lead character who is an extremely skilled martial artist from the village living in amongst city folks who finds her strange, Moon River is a romance-comedy series filled with exciting drama, romance and action. Moon River is a must watch!
